Headache or facial pain which could be attributed to rhinosinusitis is not too frequent. Patients with this problem often suffer from migraine without aura.
The revised International Headache Society classification indicates that pain in sinusitis is associated only with acute form or with acute exacerbation of chronic rhinosinusitis. In the paper is characterized pain attributed to rhinosinusitis and briefly mentioned other diseases that can imitate sinus inflammation (migraine and its variants, tension headache, midfacial segment pain, trigeminal autonomic headache, neuropathic pain and other neurological diseases).
