Abstrakt

This survey deals with the parallel between Moses negotiating with Pharaoh (Exo 5) and Jeroboam negotiating with Rehoboam (1Ki 11 and 12). Common topos is suggested behind the stories dated towards the close of Egyptian or more probably to the Neo-Assryrian era.
