The European Court of Human Rights and the Principle of Religious Freedom as a Permanent Challenge

Abstract

The article presents the approach of the European Court of Human Rights towards the question of defining religious freedom. The author highlights some of the conceptual problems associated with the application of the principle of state neutrality and secularism.

Special attention is paid to the application of religious freedom in the context of the use of religious symbols.
