The goal of this short study is to present the reception of the Book of Zohar in 20th and 21th century, particularly in connection to rabbi Yehuda Leib ha-Levi Ashlag. The first chapter brings basic characterization of the Book of Zohar and subsequently, the process of its decanonization and recanonization at the turn of 19th and 20th centuries is mentioned.
Consequently, the study focuses on the life and work od Rabbi Yehuda Leib ha-Levi Ashlag - the last important commentator of the Book of Zohar. In his work, Rabbi Yehuda Leib ha-Levi Ashlag brought forward a synthesis of Kabbalah and left-wing ideology.
Then, the paper presents the innovative kabbalistic terminology of Rabbi Yehuda Leib ha-Levi Ashlag and deals with the movements based on some of his ideas.
