Abstract

Louis Paul Boon (1912-1979) was before the second world war convinced that he as genius and visonair visual artist would conquer the world. His wish was not fulfilled.

Though he gained much fame and appreciation as an author, however, his old dream insisted. Although he tried the last fifteen years of his life to develop a career as a visual artist, he has in his literary work his love of the Visual Arts processed.

His choice for the writing is considered by many researchers about 1941 located, but my thesis is that he essentially never has made that choice so strict and that the character of his literary work is influenced strongly by the Visual Arts. On the basis of ten novels I study how Boon expresses his multi-disciplinary artistry.

Because literature and Visual Art are as incompatible disciplines be seen, there is no methodological approach to the phenomenon of multi-disciplinary artistry to analyze. Therefore I charge as concepts such as art and literature views research model, the properties of the Künstlerroman of P.V.
