Personality Cults and Nation-Building in Turkmenistan

Abstract

The chapter on Turkmenistan analyses the creation and transformation of personality cult in Turkmenistan after the dissolution of USSR. In the context of the whole book it emphasizes the specifics of the Turkmen path of the state- and nation-building processes.
