Abstract
The Brdy Highlands Protected Landscape Area in the Middle Bohemia has been declared on January 1, 2016. Two thirds of the area consists of the former Brdy Highlands Military training Area.
This article deals with the new Czech law about the nature conservation and landscape protection in this 26th Protected Landscape Area in the Czech Republic, especially Government Regulation No. 292/2015 Coll. At the present, the Brdy Highlands Protected Landscape Area there is an object important for national defence with residual explosive load.
But the main target is the nature protection. Apart from the protection of the typical landscape scenery, including building restrictions and targeted management of open habitats, the main issues of nature conservation are hydrological regime and forest tree species composition.
