Abstract
The study analyzes the historical development czechs distance travel by car since the late 19th century to the present. Although it brings the full list of explorers by car and their world itineraries, but it is based on leading explorers of the world (eg J.
Baum, J. Hanzelka and M.
Zikmund, FA Elstner) and some almost forgotten travel expeditions ( as the expedition Lambaréné in 1968). be disregarded and not the mass traffic and the current trends of long-distance travel in the 21st century, who more than a adventurous scientific apparatus; take it from classic research expeditions and traveling by car it is all about, whether they provide the stated objective.
