Abstract
The author studies the educational system and the social environment of the Russian Empire during the liberal reforms that occurred in the second half of the 19th century. Also, she is trying to analyze how the reformation influenced this system and changed the culture.
According to the author, education is an integral instrument which people in the society possess for rethinking the past, for reacting on challenges of present, and for redirecting the paths towards future in order to achieve coherence and sustainability.
