Abstract

Language is much more than just a simple code. It incorporates social elements and contexts that determine the future competence of the speaker, translator or the foreign language teacher.

Modern trends in linguistics are aimed at deconstructing the realities presented in language by linguistic concepts. The way text-books for learning foreign language are organized determines the level of understanding of the foreign language.

The combination "teacher + textbook" determines what students will learn and how that will determine the future success or failure in dealing with the linguistic realities. In this paper I will try to introduce a new method that could be used to create a new kind of textbook for learning and teaching language.

By doing this, applied language teaching should reach the advancements in linguistics.
