The Talmud is extremely rich and multi-layered text containing many various topics. A lot of additional info and meanings can be revealed only during the detailed analysis.
Talmud contains links (and quotes) to other classic Jewish texts, traces of historical events and biographical stories about sages (scholars), appearances of historical persons, wisdom sayings, haggadic stories (or legends) and others. In this paper of mine I tried to illustrate some of this richness of the Talmudic text on the example selected from tractate Ta'anit' s folio 29a (in the Seder Mo'ed).
I focused first on detecting the structure of the text and its parts and themes and subsequently focused on finding further material in the selected parts of the text. The analysis is based on my own (verbal) translation from Hebrew and Aramaic to the Czech language.
