Digitization and archiving of (not only) old maps at the Faculty of Science, Charles University

Abstract

The presentation introduced the process of description, digitization and archiving of old maps, globes, atlases and models at the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science of Charles University. Portal www.mapovasbirka.cz with all its products including Digital map collection, full texts of cartographers, Charles University Central Catalogue and also GEOBIBLINE database were presented.

Attention was also paid to the Digital University Repository and to data aggregation to the higher units as Registry of Digitization, eCollection or EUROPENA.
