Paper describes the similarities between Roman procedurall law and the evolution of legal sociology, namely in the relation with the life of an Austrian thinker Eugene Ehrlich. Judicial theorists of the end of 19th century were inspired by the Roman law or more precisely, praetorian law.
The main exponent and propagator of the bond between law and society was the mentioned romanist Eugene Ehlrich, claimed to be the founder of legal sociology by some legal sociologists authorities. The main question remains if his concept of legal pluralism is able to live through and sustainable in a multicultural society and post-modern situation.
