Introduction to the book "Living not only for ourselves," which presents a selection of eleven thematically-related texts of Jan Sokol. Included texts, permeating many areas of science, one way or another touch upon the issue of private life.
Individual life is always part of a larger unit and this has certain consequences for human life. The texts of Jan Sokol are published on the occasion of being granted the award Vize97.
