The history of the illustrious noble Waldstein dynasty in 17th and 18th centuries is not only the history of economy and politics, but also the history of the natural world of individuals belonging to the highest level of the aristocracy of its time. The book provides the view on the everyday life of Waldsteins' residences, on the strategies of representation to the society and on the Waldsteins' cultural patronage.
The author try to find the answers, how the Czech baroque nobility dealt with its own past, how it spent its own presence in the residences and how it looked to the future, which was connected with the consciousness of the eternal life.
