Abstract
The workshop focuses on an innovative concept of teaching based on the philosophy of DIY. The DIY philosophy itself will be explained within the workshop. the concept of teaching based on the DIYLab project and the main principles underpinning it.
Incorporating DIY activities into school education can be a challenge for teachers to pay deeper attention to their own learning process, to support autonomous learning and to use the knowledge, interest and skills of pupils and students acquired during their out-of-school activities, informal learning. The lecture is then focused on introducing DIYLab teaching concept and demonstration of educational activities developed within this project in the Czech Republic, Finland and Spain.
Part of the seminar will be the final discussion on the topic focused on the pros and cons of the DIYLab concept.
