Abstract
The conference was devoted to issues of protection of the weaker party in commercial law. It is a hot topic, both in the Czech Republic, where the impacts of recodification still resonate strongly, and in the Slovak Republic.
The principle of protection of the weaker party is instantiated especially by rules of minority shareholders protection which increasingly take on importance in a modern corporate law. However, the weaker party in the law of business corporations may be not only minority shareholders, depending on the particular circumstances it may be also other entities.
A number of questions also raises the issue of the status of creditor of the business corporations as the weaker party. The conference focused on various aspects of the protection of the weaker party in Czech, Slovak, but also European commercial law.
