Abstract
Botulotoxin entered into the curative medicine in 1980, in the aesthetic medicine in 1992. For several decades, achieved a position as one of most successful therapeutic molecules with high frequency of new therapeutic options.
Intensive use in the dentistry and maxillofacial surgery is dated from the start of the new millennium and we have several established treatment modalities. Despite the apparent simplicity, it is necessary to think about possible complications and to respect contraindications.
Many of problems require an interdisciplinary approach, at least an interdisciplinary knowledge. The paper provides a summary overview of current evidence based indications in the field of the dentistry and the maxillofacial surgery along with practical experience of the author.
