The chapter deals with changes of conception and development of curriculum in international and Czech context. Methodological approach combines theoretical analyses of historical and present models of curriculum with empirical analyses of curriculum development, political programmes , projects and implementation in schools.
First part of the chapter is aimed to changes of curriculum models in the international context. A process of transformation of the content and the role of teachers are focused.
Second part analyses retrospectivly the curriculum reform in basic education in the Czech Republic from visions, following by development of curriculum projects and implementation in schools. A critical reflexion the twenty years lasting process is focused to identification of setbacs of the reform in the Czech Republic.
