Ibero-American Studies in Czechoslovakia in the period of the Cold War

Abstrakt

The article analyzes the beginnings and development of study of (Latin) America in Czechoslovakia within the frame of the Area Studies approach. The Area Studies served in the context of the competition between the two blocks of the Cold War as an important tool for discoursive appropriation of more regions of the earth.
