Abstract
Theodore Roszak's Book The Making of a Counter Culture: Reflections on the Technocratic Society and Its Youthful Opposition (1969) belongs to works crucial for contemporary analyses of "cultures in opposition". The influence of the book covers a broad spectrum of disciplines (sociology, cultural anthropology, literary criticism).
The first Czech translation has been accompanied by a study of M. C.
Putna, exploring the history of the term "Counter Culture" and focusing on the metamorphoses of the countercultural tradition in the Czech context - particularly in the anti-Communist underground culture.
