Abstract
Halik defines faith as the primordial opening to dialogue with God, which attracts man in his history. On the part of man, it is always an existential act that surpasses a superficial joy of the beauty of creation and turns also towards the obscure coasts of the universe.
Faith therefore always has strongly paradoxical features. Yet it remains an invitation to freedom, forgiveness, the fullness of life.
Halik emphasizes the importance of a dialogue with the unbelievers to help the faithful rectify the false images of God which do not resurrect because of human weakness. When he speaks of prayer, Halik notes that everyone can consider his own life as a story that he is called to read.
Either it can be regarded as a work of art - although it is created by another, it reveals to us the truth of ourselves.
