Abstract
The author follows the formation of political representation in the Czech Lands according to the earliest historiographical source, Czech chronicle by Cosmas of Prague. From the beginning of the "historic" period,i. e. from the late 9th century, the main representative of political power was the the ruler - prince.
Besides the prince the group of leading men has gradually formed. These people are involved in political and military, possibly also legal proceedings.
They are also councellor of the Prince.
