Abstract
The author explores the topic of wargames and its significance for defence of a state. The text describes development of wargame throughout history, its nature, structuring as well as its potential for a conduct of national defence.
The author also examines current situation and provides recommendation for use of wargames in the national defence of the Czech Republic. Illustrative examples from military history are widely used while describing, analysing and explaining the topic.
