Individuation or on the journey towards personal freedom

Abstract

Jung established the notion of Individuation as a process of differentiation of human personality through broadening of consciousness grasping its unconscious contents. In this paper author analyses the meaning of the notion of Individuation which she distinguishes from individualism.

She also describes Jung's idea of soul as a balanced and dynamic whole of Self. According Jung only the personality with accomplished individuation could be fully independent.

The journey to "fullness" seems to be a spontaneous life movement at one hand but at the other hand we can notice its "ungranted" nature during the encounters with outer and inner influences.
