The aim of this text is to reflect the development of community concept in chosen elementrary schools in the Czech Republic after 2008, when "The analysis of preparedness of the environment in the Czech Republic and possibilities of development of community schools" was realized. Presented findings are based on interviews with school principals focused on the cooperation of school with local community, potential school resources or methods of community needs research.
This research highlights the effectivity of community schools in social inclusion through out-of-school activities - not only in socio-economically deprived localities. Other data show on complications in financing of community activites, the role of community development worker and the importance of understanding school as the community centre.
Presented facts can serve as an inspiration for other schools on their way of transformation into a school with community dimension.
