Abstract
The author deals with the relationship of Czech rulers - from Charles IV. through the Jagiellonian dynasty the Habsburgs - the Czech language. Above all, he notes that, as to which of them dominated the practical Czech language and how their relationship with the English is translated into legislation and into the Czech position in the relevant state department.
