Among linguists and teachers there is a lively interest in phraseology that is still a relatively young branch of linguistics. However, the didactic application of proverbs, is still a rather neglected area, especially in the field of Czech as a foreign language teaching.
In this paper, a relatively modern textbook of Czech for German speaking learners and selected dictionaries of Czech are examined and the question of their userfrendliness considering the treatment of proverbs is taken up.
