Abstrakt
The article deals with the six sun temples built during the Old Kingdom, the meaning of which has been discussed since a long time. The author proposes an original theory explaining why the temples started to be built at the beginning of the 5th Dynasty and their constructions ceased at the end of the same dynasty.
