Cow's Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) is typical allergic-disorder of pediatric population, with spontaneous disappearance at 3 years of age in majority of children. The diagnosis is based on clinical symptoms, blood tests and reaction to elimination diet or nutritional intervention.
Elimination diets and challenges are the gold standard for diagnosing CMPA. Elimination of the offending allergen from the infants' diet is the main treatment principle.
The prognosis of CMPA is good with a remission rate about 45-50% at one year, 60-75% at two years, and 85-90% at three years.
