The book encompasses two parts. Firstly, the edition of two books of the land tax of the Eger region from 1438 (a copy from 1769) and 1456.
Secondly, the comprehensive historical study into the city and land of Eger in the middle ages (part 1); the description of the medieval city administration (part 2); the description of the medieval tax books (part 3); the linguistic analysis (part 4); the content and knowledge potential of the tax books (part 5); and the description of the medieval tax system of the Eger land and its Central-European context (part 6-7). The book is enriched by wide registers, tables, figures and maps.
