Abstract
Government of the Czech Republic. It seeks out the c auses and factors, which have caused the low level o f strategic governance and strategic management withi n the ministries of the Czech Republic.
The issue is analysed from the perspective of organizational and human capacity to perform strategic governance. The study is based on the empirical research on the min istries of the Czech Republic.
It identifies the mai n causes of strategic governance and strategic management fa ilure at the level of the central government of the Czech Republic. These include, in particular, a persistent d istrust of the ideas of strategic governance and st rategic management and the overall low capacity of the gove rnments of the Czech Republic for strategic governance.
