A method for preparing the oxidation catalyst according to claim 1 or 2 comprising a step when cerium oxide Ce02 and the metal selected from gold or platinum are sputtered by a non-reactive high-frequency magnetron technique to the substrate concurrently from at least one target and thus a layer of cerium oxide Ce02 including dispersed atoms of said metal is formed.
