Abstract
The aim of the article is to identify and describe several pitfalls the researcher encounters when studying the Spanish Caló. It especially deals with the problematics of sources, spelling, and the influence of flamenco, argot and Andalusian dialect in Spanish Caló.
The context of other Iberian Para-Romani varieties is also mentioned.
