Abstract

The aim of this work was to verify if 3-month program of remedial physical education can improve selected parameters of physical fitness in older people. 16 women (mean age 71.88+-6.5 yrs) were tested in the beginning and at the end of the program. Four subtests of Senior Fitness Test were used.

Exercise program was scheduled for 13 weeks with the frequency once a week and duration of 55 min. In most of the results, women reached average or above average values according to their age.

After 3 month, leg muscle power evaluated by 30-Second Chair Stand increased significantly (p<0.01). Significant difference (p<0.01) was also registered in combined test Foot Up-and-Go.

Results in flexibility measurements were ambiguous.
