Abstract

The paper presents the results of pedochemical analyses and micromorphological study of black sediments uncovered at large in the area of the Rocky Cities in the north-western foot-zone of Jebel Sabaloka (West Bank) near the Sixth Nile Cataract in central Sudan and offers interpretation of these sediments in the context of Mesolithic occupation in central Sudan.
