The present contribution draws inspiration from the ideas of Fernando Navarro Domínguez explained in his study entitled "Jiří Levý: la teoría de la traducción y la lingüística", published in Iberoamericana Pragensia, Supplementum 27/2011, pp. 21 - 30. The current efforts in methodological renovations of Translation Studies have sparked a growing interest in theories that have until now been marginalized, including Slavic cultures.
The article will explore how the theories of the Czech scholar Jiří Levý were received in his day and how they are received at present, placing particular emphasis on their reflection in Spanish thinking
