This chapter summarizes the previous research on multiword units in corpus-based translation studies and then presents two case studies on translated Czech. The first one is based on the extraction of n-grams (sequences of n words) and their comparison in translated and non-translated Czech; the other one focuses on collocational profiles of selected nouns.
The main objective is to identify and describe such word combinations that are typical for translated language (based on their frequency and use); however, some attention is also given to phenomena that are rare in translation even though they belong to common vocabulary in non-translated Czech.
