The Augustinian Library at Saint Thomas in Prague. Part 1.: From the Foundation of the Monastery until the Beginning of 16th Century

Abstract

The article deals with the history of the Augustinian library at St Thomas and is devoted to medieval history, includes a brief content analysis of the medieval collection and provides information on some remarkable figures that contributed to the development of the library. Apart from the historical outline of the development of the library were also characterized the binding rules governing the librarian practice in all monastic libraries of the Order of Saint Augustine.
