Use of Melodrama in the education context.

Abstract

This paper brings new insight into Czech melodrama and its educational implications. Melodrama is an attractive tool for understanding music.

It responds to the current educational needs with an emphasis on the use of integrative approaches. In the educational context, melodrama has a significant impact on the emotional development.

It offers a possibility of interdisciplinary approach as well as new means of musical expression used in contemporary composing. This paper offers practical examples of the use of melodrama in educational context including particular tasks for different age groups that are mutually interconnected.

Such tasks provide space for the student to discover and experience music on his own.
