Jews in the Czech Lands folloving the Shoah: The Identity of Injured Memories

Abstract

The book maps the transformation of the Jewish identity folloving the Shoah, depending on historical change. In my text I use the definition of identity as the result of objective social conditions and the subjective motivation of human (group) behaviour.

I analyse the qualities the Jewish minority had, how it presented itself to the majority society, and how this was in turn perceived by this society.
