Abstract

The guest editor's note introduces the articles of the special issue Tibetan Margins, their context and links between them. Most of the papers deal with understudied phenomena, i.e., with probably the oldest known Gesar smoke purification ritual (Tib. bsang), bird offerings as they appear in apparently old texts of the Nyen Collection, an introduction to the leu rituals written in the western language for the first time, etc.
