The paper introduces the beginnings of systematic care for educating the blind in the Czechlands at the onset of the 19th century and its current development. It also focuses on the progress throughout the 20th century.
The second part deals with the history and the present days at the Conservatory of Jan Deyl. This report deals also with the issues of inclisive education and integration of visually impaired into the society, mainly through the prism of the visually impaired graguates themselves.
