Signature as a verifying tool from the auxiliary historical sciences' point of view, in: Signature - a simple object

Abstract

This text is a probe into the signatures history's problematics, their function and usage in different types of documents in different time periods and regions, concentration on the Czech lands mainly during the Middle Ages and early modern period. The main attention is aimed at the handwritten signatures mainly of an official nature with their function, the categorization of the signatures according to their form.

Single passage is devoted to the notary public.
