Abstract
Urban legends are the phenomenon of combining fiction with reality. Issue legends Czech historical science exceptions, it has been rather neglected.
Research of legends by its nature requires an interdisciplinary understanding. The capitol aims to show the reputation as a somewhat atypical historical source for research into "second life" events of the city, i.e., to apply historical research on literary themes resulting from an oral folklore collections.
In the first outline plan taking into account historical themes in the literary department, which I will demonstrate on an analysis of specific examples of selected Prague legends from collections of the most fundamental authors of Prague legends (Josef Svátek, Popelka Biliánová, Cyril Merhout).
