Criterial Features of C1 Spoken Performances in Czech

Publication at Charles University, Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies |
2012

Abstract

The article summarizes the findings of a linguistic analysis, the aim of which was to colletc and analyze language material gathered from these non-native speakers whose level of communicative competence in Czech correspond to C1. Although the research was limited to spoken production, the findings could considerably contribute to the C1 reference level description in Czech.

The analysis has shown that the so-called criterial features of level C1, compared to level B2, are to be identified not only in the area of language devices, especially lexical and grammatical ones, but also in the content-thematic structures of the performance.
