Abstract
The theme of university textbook is the use of music and music activities as means to higher quality of climate for children in school and healthcare environment. The authors focus on the positive music climate for a child which is perceived as an important prerequisite for the formation of the harmonious development of his or her personality, prevention of harmful effects of the environment and recreation.
In addition to the biological needs it is necessary to ensure that a child lives in affectionate and stable social environment with enough love, safety and stimulation. Substantial part of the textbook is devoted to music in education of a child, which is considered as the part of the communication system.
The authors put emphasis on a targeted implementation of the musical heritage with a personal reflection that reveals the new understanding of the meanings hidden in the musical testimony. To create positive musical climate, it is possible to use the following musical activities: listening to music, instrumental, drama and creative music activities by using Orff instrumentation, music relaxation and guided relaxation with music, group and individual music improvisation, music-rhythm games, music and movement activities, singing activities, analysis of lyrics, music and creative activities, exercises with the music and others.
The textbook offers orientation in the topic to students of educational and non-medical careers guidance. It can inspire the ones interested in music and music climate, experts from the helping professions, educational and professional staff who care for healthy development of children.
