This paper deals with the analysis of certain provisions of the Slovak legislation of crown witness (although the law entitles it cooperating defendant). It tries to find possible inspiration in the Slovak legislation in case that Czech legislator would decide to regulate this institute in the Czech legal system.
In this context, it discusses the suspension of criminal proceedings and the conditional suspension of criminal proceedings of cooperating persons according to the Slovak legislation, this provisions are criticized and in the end, it recommends, how should the Czech legislator get inspired from the Slovak one and which mistakes should be avoided vice versa.
