News in treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases in children

Abstract

Inflammatory bowel diseases, which include Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, can negatively affect child development and quality of life. Early age at diagnosis is associated with more severe disease course and higher complication rate.

Appropriate and early treatment can prevent structural and irreversible changes of intestine.
