Abstract
Sorghum is the oldest cultural plant in Africa. The history of its cultivation and domestication dates back at least five millennia towards the past.
Investigation of sorghum use also provides a unique opportunity to study the relationships between the ancient civilizations of Africa and tropical southern Asia.
